Event Introduction - Art in Your Neighbourhood

Art in Your Neighbourhood is a programmed organised by the National Arts Council that aims to bring enriching art experience to everyone. This programme come about to encourage Singaporean to appreciate arts and culture in their daily lives.
The focus of the 13th edition of Arts in Your Neighbourhood is in Punggol.
Although several activities are happening across 13 locations in Singapore, most activities will be centralised in Punggol. The purpose is to explore the town of Punggol and see how recorded soundscapes, environmental data and stories of Punggol residences turn into interactive visual art.

The main target market of this programme is families with children who live in Punggol. From the screenshot below it explains why most of the activities are centralised in Punggol. It is the estate where most newly married couple resides. It also means that the age group of their children are younger.

The month of November became the parent's favourite month as they do not have to crack their heads to think of activities for their children. They can just pop by any activities that are available on the day. This allows them to bond with their children around their neighbourhood. Research has also shown that art plays a part in children's development.

The secondary target market will be art lovers. Arts in Your Neighbourhood features unique art such as the five stones where it displays different fabric design with meaning and 7 Wonders of Punggol which is a musical that is inspired by Coney Island Park. It will be hard for art lovers to miss such an art gem.

Moving on, activities are held in the familiar places of Punggol. This makes it convenient for parents as they do not have to travel a long distance. It will also help to attract the crowd.

Arts in Your Neighbourhood take place in March and November every year. Both months are perfect to attract children as it is their school holiday. There will be a higher chance to attract more children as compared to during school terms.
